Privacy Policy

Inspection Record ("we", "us") helps you keep a formal record of inspections of your property. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Inspection Record website and mobile app.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address, name (if provided), and authentication details. Sign-in is handled by our authentication provider, Clerk.
• Inspection data. The properties you register, the inspections you log, notes, dates, and status information.
• Photos. Photos you choose to attach to inspections, taken with your camera or selected from your photo library. We only access the camera or photo library when you initiate adding a photo, and only the photos you select are uploaded.
• Subscription information. Subscription status and purchase records processed by RevenueCat and Apple (see "Subscriptions and billing" below). We never see or store your full payment card details.

Who we are (data controller)

Inspection Record is operated by Page1 (Europe) Ltd, a company registered in England (company no. 06566736), whose registered office is at 4 Tregarne Terrace, St. Austell, Cornwall, PL25 4BE, United Kingdom. Page1 (Europe) Ltd is the data controller responsible for your personal data.

How we use your information

• To provide the service: storing your inspection records and photos, computing due dates, and generating your formal inspection record.
• To operate your subscription and confirm your access to premium features.
• To provide AI-assisted risk analysis when you request it (see below).
• To respond to support requests and maintain the security of the service.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Legal bases for processing

• Performance of a contract — processing your account and inspection data is necessary to provide the service you signed up for.
• Legitimate interests — keeping the service secure, preventing abuse, and responding to support requests.
• Consent — the optional AI photo analysis runs only when you request it, and you can use the service fully without it.

AI analysis of inspection photos

If you choose to run the optional AI risk analysis on an inspection, the photos attached to that inspection are sent to an AI model provider to generate the analysis. Photos are used only to produce the analysis you requested; the resulting summary is stored with your inspection. You can use the app fully without ever using this feature.

Subscriptions and billing

Premium access is offered as an auto-renewing subscription. Purchases made in the mobile app are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), and subscription state is managed by RevenueCat, our subscription infrastructure provider. RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous user identifier and purchase information needed to validate your subscription. Payment details are handled entirely by Apple or Google; we never see your full payment card details.

Service providers

• Clerk — account authentication.
• RevenueCat — subscription management.
• Apple and Google — in-app purchase billing on iOS and Android.
• Cloud hosting and storage — our application, database, and photo storage run on secure cloud infrastructure.
• AI model provider — processes inspection photos only when you request an AI analysis.

These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

International data transfers

Our service providers may store and process data in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where personal data is transferred out of the UK or the European Economic Area, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK and EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision to protect it.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is retained while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the app or website; this permanently deletes your account, properties, inspections, and photos. You can also delete individual inspections and photos at any time.

Security

All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Photos are stored privately and are only accessible to the account that uploaded them.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies and similar technologies, such as those needed to keep you signed in and remember your language. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the UK or EU GDPR, the CCPA in California, or the LGPD in Brazil), you have rights over your personal data, including:

• the right to access the personal data we hold about you;
• the right to correct inaccurate data;
• the right to delete your data — you can do this yourself at any time by deleting your account;
• the right to receive a copy of your data in a portable format;
• the right to object to or restrict certain processing;
• the right to complain to your data protection authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Children

Inspection Record is not directed at children, and you must be at least 18 years old to use the service. We do not knowingly collect information from children; if we learn that we have, we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above, and where required we will notify you (for example by email or an in-app notice).
